The Constitution and Current Events

Instructed by Andy Schlafly

In this course students will learn the Constitution through its impact on current events. We begin with a simple, ten-question quiz to evaluate your knowledge. Unfortunately, schools and the media teach us almost nothing about the Constitution, so most quiz scores are low. But this course changes that. We first examine Congressional power in the context of the Copyright clause, and the key Eldred v. Ashcroft case before the Supreme Court. Next we look at the issues of immigration and the English language. From there we move to other controversial issues, like abortion and school prayer and free speech. We will be guided by current events as the course proceeds. Join us!
